It is said that Mary Shelly's inspiration for her famous novel "Frankenstein" came from a dream following the death of her infant child. On March 19, 1815 she wrote in her journal: "Dream that my little baby came to life again--that it had only been cold & that we rubbed it before the fire & it lived." From this nightmare was borne the inspiration for the story of Frankenstein's monster.
To his wife he cried, 'Why did you awaken me? I was dreaming a fine boogey tale.'" Publised in 1886 under the title "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" this Scottish playwright is said to have been inspired to write this classis horror story following a frightening nightmare of the tortured Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the monster that lived inside of him.
